The Bachata
Bachata is a popular guitar music from the Dominican Republic.
Now overwhelmingly successful among Latinos in the United States,
Bachata took shape over a period of about forty years in the bars and
brothels of Santo Domingo, not gaining acceptance in its native land
until about ten years ago. Young groups like Aventura have a similar
relationship to original Bachata as rock and rollers do to the blues,
which has languished in the shadow of its more commercially viable
descendant.

The Slow Waltz
This great dance dates back to the Victorian era. The Waltz is a ballroom dance which travels in a counter clockwise direction around the dance floor. It is the only dance that has 3/4 timing ~ thus making it the ultimate box dance that's user friendly on large or small floors, allowing dancers to move in a straight line, in a zig-zag movement, or ultimately rotate in large circular patterns around the dance floor.
